Implementation Consultant

Backstop Solutions Group is a Chicago based company that makes SaaS applications for hedge funds and the people who invest in them. Over the last few years, we have grown considerably, won several awards, and built a lot of great software. Backstoppers take our customers and our service very seriously but pride ourselves on not taking ourselves too seriously in the process.

Position available in Chicago or New York City or London

Responsibilities/Job Description:

The Professional Services Group is looking for an energetic, team-oriented individual interested in the technical side of client implementations. They are expected to assist in the development of solutions for  both internal and client facing work. Projects may involve the following disciplines:

  • Product configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Produce client reports using proprietary tools, VBA, and Excel.
  • Data manipulation and migration using proprietary tools and SQL.
  • Working cross teams to ensure deliverables are received on time and within budget and meet the requirements and expectations of the client.
  • Develop documented repeatable processes that provide efficiency to the team.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with other Professional Service team members.
  • As directed, participate in internal Professional Services team meetings and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • 1+ years of technical/consulting experience
  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience, preferably in engineering or a similar field of study
  • Close attention to detail and thorough work.
  • An analytical/problem-solving approach to work.
  • The ability to work as part of a team or individually.
  • Experience in or an interest in the Alternative Investment Industry together with the desire to learn all the aspects of the clients’ workflow and business process.
  • The position requires familiarity with the following Microsoft products and technologies:
    • MS Office (particularly Excel and Access, including VBA)
    • MS SQL Server, primarily writing SQL statements
