Relationship Manager

Over the last few years, we have grown considerably, won several awards, and built a lot of great software. Backstoppers take our customers and our service very seriously, but pride ourselves on not taking ourselves too seriously in the process.
Backstop has recently started a Relationship Management team to focus on keeping our client base engaged and happy. We are looking for energetic, client focused and results oriented individuals interested in building key relationships, driving usage and expanding our footprint.
Positions are available in the Chicago Loop and New York Manhattan locations.
Key Job Functions:
- Cultivate, maintain and develop key relationships
- Analyze key data points to ensure clients are fully adopting our software
- Identify areas for growth within existing client organizations
- Coordinate with Client Services, Marketing, Professional Services, Product Management and Sales on Key Initiatives to drive Backstop visibility, education and usage
- Keep clients happy and referenceable
Core Responsibilities:
- Act as a lead Evangelist of the BSG story and vision both internally and externally
- Direct accountability for retention of the assigned accounts within the BSG client base
- Drive usage and grow footprint within assigned accounts
- Work as an advocate for the client and ensure a high level of client satisfaction
- Identify opportunities for potential revenue growth
- Manage client improvement requests and provide feedback to Product Management to identify feature / function needs and new product ideas
- Handle client escalations from Support, Professional Services and Sales
- Work collaboratively with other company executives, managers, and other team members to help nurture our results driven, team-oriented environment
- Present at industry conferences and events like the annual BSG user conference
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of five years of financial services technology account management or sales experience; or a minimum of five years of experience on a professional services team or client support team with an aptitude for the consultative sales process
- Thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment with many simultaneous projects
- Consistent track record of over-achieving quota and/or significantly increasing client satisfaction in past positions
- Alternative Investment Industry experience or knowledge is strongly preferred
- Travel required
- Bachelor’s degree required
